Her sword was already drawn, and her head darted about. Gavin may have been friendly, but they both knew all too well that others would be waiting for them to let their guard down.

[attr="class","athread"]The man showed off new moves and the same old attitude. The former earned a curious ‘ooo’ from the girl, shortly before she was forced to focus on a Fearow of her own. The birds were annoyingly quickly, but it didn’t matter how quickly they came charging at her when she had the power of priority – and a super-effective move. Her for didn’t stand much of a chance against an Accelerock – just the way she liked it.

“Same, pretty much! I figure that if I’m quick, I’ve got a good shot at getting in… But I bet that everybody else’s thinking the same! Now’s a good time to have a rogue’s speed on call, am I right?” She flashed him a cheeky smile in between checking for griefers.

Annie is quick and powerful as ever; there's a reason he'd chosen from the beginning to mark her as an ally rather than an enemy.[break][break]

After all, the boss was in the Avia kingdom. That meant it was probably flying-type, right? Such was his logic.[break][break]

A pair of Masquerain appear, and the closer one to the rogue makes the mistake of attempting to buff itself with a quiver dance. He pounces on his advantage with his newest favoured combo — toxic thread for a 100% poison chance, and then his signature venoshock to finish the job.

[attr="class","athread"]The heavens delivered a Pokemon to the slaughterhouse. Annie could barely contain her smirk as Gavin pointed out the Masquerain’s typing. There was no need for her to approach it when she could show off instead, much like the rogue seemed to be doing. A stomp of her hit was enough for her to mimic a mage, summoning boulders in from… The sky, apparently. They rained down on the remaining Masquerain, and that was all she wrote.

“That’s what I’m hoping for. Honestly, I’d be happy to go against anything that isn’t an ice-type. Getting real tired of every other player I try to fight having an ice move… Even in VR, the cold stings.” It wasn’t just because of the winter she’d endured, but that had done a lot to flavour her opinion of the weather.

As expected, the Masquerain goes down under an avalanche of boulders. If they were real, he'd have felt bad for it.[break][break]

Altaria surprises them with a sky attack from above. It dives at the rogue, knocking him to the ground, and the 'flinched status effect appears above his health bar.[break][break]

In the chat, he types: 'Fuck.'[break][break]

His inability to act meant the dual-type rounded on the warrior next, engaging her. Once the flinch wore off, Gavin would ready his venoshock and assist in whittling down the remainder of the dragon's health.
